Teach Soap

I am ordering the Shea Butter M & P base from Brambleberry since it seems highly recommended. I need a recipe now so I know what essential oils and fragrances etc.. I need to purchase. I am not wanting to make any "fancy" soaps. I just want to make rectangle bar soaps. How many soaps will 1 lb of base make? How many lbs of base do you order when you are just starting and making your very first soaps?

I need a recipe for something either sweet pea-ish or that green clover and aloe I LOVE....maybe honeysuckle?

I see that sweat pea fragrance was just added to brambleberry's permanent list. If you like that you should probably add it to your MP purchase. According to the description it even has notes of clover in it. Since you said you like that too, sounds like a great place to start!

1 Lb. of base makes about 4 bars of 4 oz. soap. You can purchase molds or make some out of clean/empty milk cartons or yogart cups.
Just stir your Fragrance into your gently melted base and stir in a color
( if you want ) and pour into your molds. Let it harden, maybe overnight, and then turn your molds over and gently but firmly press them out of the molds. (Put in plasic cling-wrap when done.)
As for a recipe - you get to make those up yourself, however you want to make it. You can add cosmetic safe glitter or small amounts of oils or butters or small chunks of other soap or whatever you can think of!

Just remember anything "natural" like fruit or herbs will turn brown eventually.
