Teach Soap

I've never made melt and pour soap! But I've watched every soap queen tv video and read online tutorials and I feel like I know everything like I'm sure everyone thinks in the beginning. Does anyone have any projects or ideas that are good for newbies to the soap experience? Thanks!

Thanks! I was wondering about the different bases though- aside from price differences do they all act way differently in soap? For example, I see some projects use white melt and pour. Can I substitute similar color Shea base? Or clear with aloe? Do they affect the smell or color that I can't substitute?

When I do m&p and want a white base, I always use the shea base. I like the creaminess of it. I find the white base too drying for me but it is personal preference really. I also found that with a yellowish base, you can put a tiny dot of blue colorant (liquid) in it and that makes it look more clear.

I use the regular clear and if I need white I add the titanium dioxide to it myself.

BB has a sampler pack of MP bases that is a great way to try them. It's very reasonably priced, too.
