ayesha,

I'm a new soaper too, but I have been successful with layering, though I was surprised my soap actually adhered and did not separate as you describe. Couple of thoughts. What kind of soap bases are you using? After sitting for 15 minutes how firm was the first layer? I think it needs to still be warm.

Sunsetsoaps - cute pix, i saw your etsy site!

now that i think about it, I had it setting for about 10-15 min, thought it had a good enough film, and when i un-propped it, one area of it burst, so soap from inside came gushing out, thus creating a new layer that I should have let harden. I think it may be just that side of the loaf as well, but I'm too nervous to look at the rest of my disaster soap!

What else have you tried with glycerin bases? i have an aloe/olive (which is what i used for above).
