Teach Soap

Has anyone attempted to duplicate it? I'm using my biscuit cutter to make the insert, because i don't have a plain jane round mold. (Bending the heck out of the biscuit cutter while i'm doing it!)

should I be curving the insert at the tip or more at the base? I'm having a terrible time getting it just right. I end up with my opaque inserts looking more like little swastikas and that's just no good.

Mine are far from perfect so take this with a grain of salt ... but what I do when I'm cutting the circles is to pop them out, then ever so lightly score the tops into 8 slices, but when I cut them, I attempt to make curved cuts rather than the straight cuts like I scored. It helps me from making the curved portions too big.

Months late on this one, but maybe it'll help someone else.

I'm new to soap making but saw this tutorial and had to try it. I found that if instead of making 8 slices, you make 10 - so each candy has 5 white and 5 colored slices, it'll look less like a swastika (and personally I liked the way 5 looked more than 4). Also if you cut the white slices right after the soap cools enough to pop out of the mold, you can make them curved very easily. Just make sure to let them sit out to fully harden - I had a disaster where the white started to melt again when I added the color.

I'm having trouble with the bubbles though, even using alcohol, I still have bubbles. Being a perfectionist, it's bugging me. So is the fact that the sides of the candies get weird, sometimes the color goes around the white slices on the sides, sometimes it doesn't so they're very irregular, not like the ones in the tut.
