Teach Soap

Hi Ladies,
I'm as new as they get.
Here's what i'm trying to do:
I was purchasing soap bits called "Booty Cubes". This was basically a scented glycerine based soap. It's dissoved in water and used to moisten cloth wipes for babies. I was spending a small fortune on these and decided to make some for myself.
I ordered a melt and pour glycerine bar, some body safe scented oils and did it.

Here are my questions:

Does anyone know of a better recipe for these? Although the ones I made turned out great, i'd like to make the best ones i can. KWIM?
any advice would be helpful.

The gal that started these must be making a lot of money. It's just MP that you dissolve in water. If you have a good MP base, you should be good to go. I would not use a fragrance oil, especially in the baby's delicate area..

Here is a quote from her web site: "Fragrance oils in Booty Cubes are used in small amounts; only enough to "get the job done." They contain 100% all natural ingredients which help prevent and soothe diaper rash. She's claiming that they are all natural. I just don't see how. No MP is 100% natural. MP is made with lye, which is made in a lab. No lye, no soap. All soaps start with lye, even though by the time the soap is saponified, there is no longer lye present. Her advertisement is misleading.

I'm interested as well... have a grand-dtr 3 y/o and a grand-son 7 mo. My dtr would like some soap and I was going to try an olive oil cp without fragrance but now this has my curiosity... any information would be helpful. I also worry about it being "tear-free" but realize that this is not possible with our soaps. TIA.

As soon as you add water to dissolve some MP in it, it will change the pH. You can either add a preservative to that batch, or make new every time you need it. I would not use this to wipe a baby after one day. Too many chances of germs and bacteria breeding in that water. I would wash the washcloth every day. Stored in some type of a ziploc bag creates a perfect environment for all kinds of nasties to grow.
