Teach Soap

I live in Northern Ontario , Canada. I am having a really hard time finding citric acid . I found some online but for a 4 kg bag of citric acid and a 10 kg bag of epsom salts they want to charge me $50.00 to ship it.
Is there any substitute for citric acid? Cream of tater is about $9.00 for cup and I want to keep my costs down. Any one have a recipe they would like to share?

You need the citric acid for the reaction that makes bath bombs what they are. I did some quick searching and found this site. http://www.villagecraftandcandle.com/pr ... 94&c=11507 They are also located in Ontario. See if you can get it from them. You may even be able to pick it up rather than have it shipped.

Cream of tartar would be useless because it is the salt. I should think tartaric acid would work as well as citric if you can find it.

Not sure where you were looking, but have you checked out www.voyageursoapandcandle.com? I'm in Ontario as well and get it shipped from there You could check out Village Craft & Candle as well like suggested above, it's going to be cheaper on shipping if you're buying some other stuff too..the customer service from both is awesome

I don't think tartaric works the same as citric,I use it in combo with baking soda and other things for my bubble bars and they do not fizz.
