Teach Soap

I'm an addicted soap making and have been enjoying trying out other new things like: bath bombs, massage bars, body whip butters,etc... but cold process is something i need to do more research on.

I've looked online for some basic shampoo bar recipes but they all include lye, is it possible to get a ready made melt and pour shampoo base? if not does any know any good tips for starting to make basic shampoo bars?

Only cold process or hot process shampoo bars need lye. There are also syndet shampoo bars as well.

I've seen recipes for melt and pour shampoo bars, where really all they do is add castor oil to it. That doesn't work.
I've heard of people using Shaving Melt and Pour bases as shampoo bars (http://www.brambleberry.com/Shaving-Mel ... P4384.aspx)
I've never tried that, but I'm sure it would be similar to a shampoo bar.

Personally, I prefer syndet shampoo bars because using MP & CP on my hair makes it feel really dry after a while.

Organic Creations has a shampoo bar that you can rebatch. I have never tried it though.

All soaps start out with lye. If you don't want to make your own recipe, buy a rebatch base (BrambleBerry sells this), a MP soap base, or make a syndet bar.

I have went ahead and bought 5kg shampoo bar base from my suppliers so going to have a little play about and see what good ideas i can come up with.
