Teach Soap

When do you test? Just the first batch? Ocassional random testing after you get the formula down? And then what about maybe doing batch numbers or something like that to be able to track them down should you need to recall? And then how do you track that? or do you?

I've been making lotions for personal/family use for over a year now. I still have some of my very first batch that I'm going to send for testing to see how the counts compare to when I first made it. That will let me know beyond a doubt that my preservative is working as it should. I put a batch # (the date & -1, 2, etc. if I made more than one batch: 091512-1) and an expiration date of 9 months from the batch date on the label.
