Hi,

Does anyone know how I can create a baby oil gel like Johnson's and Johnson's?

It's the polymers that act as a gelling agent. I don't see any good ingredients. I would not use this on a baby.

It contains: Mineral Oil, Hexyl Laurate, Hydrogenated Styrene/Isoprene Copolymer, Cyclopentasiloxane, Fragrance.

I found it super gooey! I used it on my god daughter when she was a baby. Could NOT wash the stuff off! It was like greasy super glue

Oh this was on her behind for about 6 days. The doctor told her to use "doak soak" to get it off. Oops?

Typical bloody awful commercial product, frankly. Something from the dark ages of personal care.

To create an analogue, I have never done this by the way, I would obviously need to use a polymer so that would be Ultrez-20, just 0.25% would do, neutralized to pH 6 with TEA. As an emollient I'd use almond oil. I'd also include 20% aloe vera to stop inflammation, 5% calendula for soothing, and a preservative of course. No fragrance; it's for a baby. No emulsifier needed because the Ultrez will do that job.
