Teach Soap

I will be doing a fair on 12/1/12 and we will be doing bath bombs, bath salts and sugar scrubs. Some with fragrance oils and some with essential oils. How far in advance could these be made. I have done a citrus sugar scrub using E.O. and am letting it sit unopened for 2 months and also have done a lavender bomb. I was hoping to start making everything about the 2 week on Nov. and I figured people maybe buying for Christmas so that would make another month before they are used.

Are organza bags pretty good to put bath salts in? I was going to put the bath bombs in cello bags.

I'm starting my Christmas soaps now, but anything else like lotion or bath salts I will wait closer to the holidays, like end of October, beginning of November. I would test any B&B products now, so you know how they will behave.

thank you for the reply.. you are always so helpful.. so waiting until Nov. would be ok once I have done my testing and then they should be still fresh at Christmas time.

The longer bath salts sit the more the fragrance can weaken. I think dendritic salt is supposed to help it hold more fragrance but still after a few months I think mine don't smell as nice as they first did. Lesson learned, I do not make them in super bulk any more.
Store the products in cool dry dark places to keep the oils from going rancid on you (more so with your sugar scrub than bath salts though)
