except, I replaced the parabens with potassium sorbate 0.5%, and the olive oil I changed to jojoba oil, I used Carbopol Ultrez-20 instead of their similar polymer, and I added keratin at 0.5% and used quaternium-60 instead of their quat. No emulsifier; it produced a 2-layer system until I neutralised the polymer and mixed. Then it stayed stable. Have to test it tomorrow.

It turns out that Carbopols in general are not compatible with quats. There is one Carbopol that works ok with quats apparently. (CC30)
