Hello everyone, I have made some bath bomb cupcakes and I noticed that the bath bomb mixture is not hardening. I used the recipe on the teachsoap home page, you know 1 part acid to 2 pts. baking soda but I am also adding grapeseed oil. The bath bombs that I made came out perfectly with no cracks and are holding rock steady so far, but I put the cupcake papers in the cupcake pan and tamped down the mixture super hard but when I took them out of the pan hours later they were crumbly and barely holding themselves together. Is there a specific mold that I am supposed to use? Thank you!

Sounds like it needs just a little bit of moisture. Some people spray theirs with a little bit of witch hazel.

It does sound like you need more moisture. Or you can use some butter. Butter helps it stick together.

I did spray it with witch hazel, I didn't mention it because I though it was a given, sorry! I used the recipe off of Teach Soap, I just added oil. Does anyone think the oil was a factor? Thank you for the responses!

Cocoa butter makes it stick together great. I use it for my bath fizzies.
