Teach Soap

Is there a chart/list of best types of bottles/containers for various toiletries and cosmetics? I'm still trying to figure out which type of container is best for items such as lotions, whipped butters, salves, etc. I seem to be overwhelmed with the differences.....thick wall, double wall, single wall, HDPE, PET, etc.
How do you choose what works best with your products?

I prefer PET or PETE as that material is more sturdy with formulas that have fragrances or essential oils. It depends what your formula is, what it is and how it will be used.

sks-bottle.com has a grid of plastic properties for different applications--how oxygen permeable, how high a temp they can stand, etc. Maybe that will help?

I use tins for my beeswax-based and whipped butter balms. They are expensive, but people like them.

For me, marketing issues rule supreme. I look forward to the day when I can afford to have our own custom moulds made. (About $3,300 per mould) Then we could have unique packaging.
