Why would you add glycerin to a CP recipe if the process of saponification produces glycerin already? I've seen recipes lately that call for glycerin as an ingredient.

HI Linda,

My guess would be to make it softer and/or more moisturizing. But you'll be a lot more likely to get a really good answer if you post this in the CP forum.

It really isn't needed. I would leave the glycerin out of the recipe. It can also make the soap sticky.
