Teach Soap

I work L&D when I have to and I was wondering about coming up with a post-pregnancy sitz bath formula. I know it will need baking soda, but I wonder if I can work in some kind of powdered milk or anything else.... and ideas?

I wouldn't touch this with a 10 foot pole. Baking soda and powdered milk?! I don't think so. You could end up with a big liability suit on your hands.

There is not any EO or ingredient (that we stock) that should go onto open wounds or irritated skin in the perineum. And really, there is nothing better than plain soap and water in the sitz wand. Spray, pat dry, and air it out. And, of course, the physician will prescribe an antibiotic ointment if and when they feel it is necessary. This is not an area to mess with, nobody carries enough insurance for it!

I have to agree with everyone above. After my pregnancy, the only stuff to touch my body was what the doctor prescribed because I was worried about infection and such.
