Teach Soap

Does any one know if there is a soap baase m/p for babies and todlers,? If so any ideas on the best fragrance for them?

Babies under 6 months of age don't really need any soap. After 6 months you can use any of the MP bases. I would not add any fragrance or color. It could irritate their delicate skin. After 2 years, you can add a drop or two of color and a small amount of fragrance oil.

Thanks soapbuddy, I have a two year old grandaughter and I didnt know if there was a base that would noy burn eyes if got in. I will give her a few more months before I make.

Chamomile and Lavender are considered some of the best and safest essential oils for little ones. They are gentle and also have the added bonus of encouraging a good night's sleep!

I agree with just using a plain melt and pour base. However, this will sting if it gets in her eyes. The only tear free products I have seen are the big boys at the grocery store... sorry!

When my kids were little I folded a dry washcloth for them and let them hold it over their eyes while I rinsed their hair. This way they had control over how much water went onto their faces. we also had fun because I would just drizzle the water over their heads and it tickled.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

My littler ones use goggles in the bath tub. We also just use a toy watering can to rinse their hair. I'm sure it would look pretty bizarre to other people LOL

I've heard that the "Tear Free" soaps contain a chemical that numbs the eyes to keep them from burning. Not positive if that's true or if it was just a little bit of fear mongering.
