I feel bad for asking so many questions lol.
I made some whipped soap and fragranced it at about 3%. The highest you can go is 5%. According to the website customer preferred was 2-3%.
After letting it sit for 24 hours to set up as recommended, I don't smell anything after I wash with it. It smells from the jar, but not on my skin at all. I assume people still want to smell like the intended fragrance even after they washed with it.
Here is my dilemma: It is already whipped and set up. I don't think I can re-whip it and add more FO because I think it will deflate. I had one deflate already from over whipping. Now I have a few jars and don't know what to do with them. I don't want to sound unprofessional and say something like "this scent is not as strong as it will be later" lol I don't want to waste it either. I made a few jars that aren't heavily scented because it's to hard to whip such a small amount, so I had to start with 8oz to get a good whip. So I have about 6 or more jars I don't know what to do with them. Should I sell them? The soap is great, but the frag is weak.

Sell them as a specialty for those that like their fragrances soft. Play up on that. Tell them you meant to scent it this light! :)

Shinycat, very few of my regular soaps leave a fragrance on my skin... if so it is very short lived. After all the soap is to clean with and is washed off. To make a fragrance stay you would need a stay on fragrance, lotion or perfume? You could advertise the wipped soap as a "fragrant experience" or a relaxing scent-sation.
(PS - I am wearing one of your earrings as I type this, funny?)

I agree, market it as lightly scented. I do ALL my soaps very, very light because I feel that it makes them more appealing to the "natural" crowd when using fragrance oils, which of course are not natural. I only use 5 ounces in a 9 pound batch (some older samples I have kept still have a good hint of fragrance even after 2 years and I try and sell fresh ones at a maximum of 6 months, if I can). I also promote that I lightly scent them so they don't compete with their favorite lotions and perfumes/aftershaves, etc. that they already love and I'd have to say, no one seems to mind. They sniff and buy. Certain scents however are a bit stronger and do linger on the skin, like dragonsblood and sandalwood, but not for long.
Hope this eases your mind a bit.

lol susie, I had to go look to see who bought from your city. Thank you! lol
Thanks to everyone, guess I won't feel as bad they aren't heavily scented then. I stopped working on them for now to concentrate on the scenting of the body butter which I'm pretty much done with. I needed to take a break for a couple days lol
