I know this sounds like a silly question, but can someone help me figure it out the percentages for a 4 ounce jar of these ingredients? Thanks!!

Try 2.4 ozs. of sugar to 1.6 ozs. of oils (or a oil blend). If that's too dry for you, up the oil a bit.

Pure Cane Sugar, Shea Butter, Fractionated Coconut Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E, Fragrance, FD&C Colorant.

To be honest with you, with this scrub, I don't measure, I just add and add. I guess that's wrong. The only time I knw the percentages is when I make soap.

I would suggest that you weigh it. That way if you come upon a combo that you like, you will be able to recreate it.

Thank you soapbuddy. i want to venture into hair care, what I am trying to do is gather small amounts of things that I would like to try and make so when I am ready to launch my line, (who knows when I will be expert enough to do that!) I will at least have experience and savvy to decide what might be good sellers. I have researched several companies and cannot find a hair conditioner base that has aloe leaf juice, paraben free, sls free, silk amino acids, etc. Does any of this sound famliar to you?

I have a great sugar scrub recipe if you would like it. I use mine all over about every 3rd day and my skin stays soft.

Absolutely! Here it is

For 10 oz

4 oz Shea Butter
4 oz Brown Sugar
3 g E-Wax
1 oz Exfoliant ( I use ground apricot seeds)
1 oz Jojoba oil
1.5 g fragrance ( I found that it doesn't take a lot of fragrance but you can add up to .5%)
1 g preservative

Melt shea butter, jojoba oil, and e-wax in double boiler over medium heat until shea is completely melted. Remove from heat and add sugar and exfoliant. Add fragrance and preservative. Transfer to a bowl and whisk. Place in fridge for 5-15 min intervals, whisking in between until desired consistency is reached. After about an hour, it was like whipped icing. Spoon into a container. It does harden a little bit but not too much.
