Hi everyone,

My question for you is, what is the ideal humidity to produce bath bombs. I live in the Bahamas, so for the most part humidity is way of life so I have to find a way to work with it.

I've been looking online and I can't find a definitive answer. Is 30% humidity ok? I plan on purchasing a hygrometer (measures humidity) and but I need to know what humidity will be ideal. Or will I have to figure with one out via trial and error, because the bath bombs I've been creating lately haven't been the ideal ones.

I will eventually purchase a dehumidifier but until then I would like to find a way to still make a quality product. Thanks in advance!

I can't speak to exact humidity levels but i do know that if it is too humid it could be problematic. You might want to try alternative recipes to actual bath bombs. I was playing around with some different recipes which turned out pretty cool, they have a different feel and different good properties to them. I am trying to remember where the recipes were, i know i found a sugar cube recipe on soap queen tv which i played around with and ended up really liking, there is a salt one too but you will have to play with it here is what i have:
dry
18 oz epsom salt
9 oz baking soda
8 oz citric acid
1 oz kaolin clay
liquid
4 oz cocoa butter (melted)
.5 oz jojoba oil
.25 oz vitamin E oil
.4 oz fragrance (that is at 1% maybe you can do a bit more?)
.4 oz colorant, optional, i did not use any because the cocoa butter is yellow and was pretty

good luck, there are a TON of great recipes out there, you will have to play around to make them work for your environment.
