Hi everyone! Well, I'm having a heck of a time with my body scrubs. I finally made a scrub that I like using ewax as an emulsifier.
In my bath room (which is normally 72-75 degrees) it stays together and works amazingly. Yesterday I took some over to my parents house
so my mom could try some out. My parents AC is broken and by mid afternoon it was up in the high 90's and the scrub had turned into mush.
I stirred it up and stuck it in the fridge and it came back together but it works awful now. It leaves a thick greasy residue that is very hard to
get off your skin. I'm thinking of using BTMS instead of ewax. Is BTMS a more stable way of emulsifying scrubs? Will the scrub still melt in high heat?

What was your recipe? How much e-wax did you use? In high heat, it can happen. I prefer not to ship my scrubs during the heat wave in the summer.

I used a combo of cocoa butter, shea butter, olive oil, sweet almond oil and coconut oil and ewax at 11%. I don't have my book with me at the moment but I think the ratio of liquid oils to butters was 60% liquid oils and 10% butters. I used some stearic acid and beeswax but don't remember the exact percentage of those right now.

I would leave the beeswax out. It's interferring with the e-wax. I would lower your e-wax as well.

So the beeswax might be the culprit? I'm going to leave that out my next batch & lower the e-wax and see what happens. I think I will make one subbing the
e-wax with btms and see how it turns out. This heat is murder on scrubs!
