I'm looking for a basic bubble bath recipe using the BB liquid soap base. Would one add castor oil or glycerin to increase bubbles? Is the addition of salt really needed? Thanks.

Castor oil only works if you add it during the soapmaking process, not after. You could add a small amount of glycerin, but since it's not a surfactant, I really doubt it would give you more bubbles. I find some essential oils tend to thicken it ie: Lavender and some essential oils thin it ie: some citrus oils. You can try a salt solution to thicken it, but the only way you would know if it works with your scent is to make a small batch and try it.

Hi there! I'm new to soaping and to the forum, but since I also wasn't sure what to do with my BB liquid soap, I thought I'd post my experience here:

I used 1/2 tsp of dead sea salt in 2 cups of BB liquid soap base, and at first, the salt was clumpy and I thought, oh no! there goes 2 cups of soap base. But I let it sit for 2 days, occasionally stirring, and by the 3rd day, it had transformed into a neat pearly white! HOWEVER, it smelled kind of funky...so I tried adding in a total of 3.5 mL of Eucalyptus and White Tea/Ginger FOs last night, and it smells better, although the consistency is thicker now...almost like a liquid putty.

Maybe if you use just a regular salt or sea salt, or perhaps just much less than 1/2 tsp of dead sea salt. or perhaps do what it says on the BB site and dissolve the sea salt in distilled water first...
