This might be a ditzy blonde question (hehe) but I was just thinking.....if you had leftover lotion base, could you add stearic acid or beeswax or something to it to make it more of a butter/cream consistancy? If so, how could one do something like that? I'm just thinkin....a well meaning friend bought me a cheap lotion base from a craft store here. I couldn't use it in my own products, but I'm figuring I could play with it and see what happens lol

Feel free to play, but I don't think you'll get what you want without compromising the preservative. The emulsion could also break and you could end up with separation.

i agree with soapbuddy. you'll probably have to heat the base to get stearic or beeswax incorporated, and that's likely to destroy any preservative system.
