Is it ok to use sodium borate in liquid soap (to preserve)?

Sodium borate is Borax. That's not preservative. I would use liquid Germall Plus. It's used in shampoos and body/shower gels, conditioners and other high water content products.

But on your website gingers garden the only preservative listed on your liquid soap is sodium borate BORAX?

I hope Soapbuddy doesn't mind me stepping in here but from what I see in her lotions and cremes, she uses Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate as the preservative. I googled it to see what it was and turns out, it's a preservative.

I use Germall plus in my liquid soaps. Just have to remember it can't take any heat above 120 deg.
