Teach Soap

I would like to make some bath fizzies (they sound fun!). Can a person buy the citric acid at "regular" grocery stores? I live in WA state. I have found all other ingredients but have not been able to find the citric acid.

yes, you can use it

Try Fruit Fresh. I believe that's the same thing as citric acid.

Were you able to find fruit fresh? I couldn't find any at my grocery store or at my pharmacy. I read online walmart might have it. I hope to find it at a store so I can try to make some bath bombs this weekend! Could it possible go by another name?

I think Fruit Fresh is ascorbic acid not citric acid. I don't know if ascorbic acid would work the same.

Squamy- I was unable to make it to town yesterday. (Darn that Christmas party getting in the way of my craft work- HA!) I think (??) I have seen Fruit Fresh at the Fred Meyers store. Is there one by you? I should be able to check today and let you know.

I have wanted to try the kitchen sink freshener recipe. Do you think the Fruit Fresh would work for that until I'm able to purchase some real citric acid?

definitely, you can use it for sink freshener, you should be able to find fruit fresh in the baking section of your grocery store. I live in a small town and our Fred Meyer doesn't carry alot of stuff the bigger towns carry and it has it. Fruit fresh is usually used in canning or freezing fruit, so it's safe to use.

In WA, you also may find Fruit Fresh at ACE Hardware since they carry canning stuff.

My pharmacy (here in WA) carries Citric Acid... but for an exorbitant price.

Brambleberry is in Washington so even if you order online, you should have it pretty quickly.

I didn't even think to check if Brambleberry carries citric acid (duh...); thank you! I did find Fruit Fresh in F. Meyers and Albertsons, but rather pricey if a person wants to make more than a few fizzies. With shipping, the price from Brambleberry is about the same but I decided I would rather spend the money at Brambleberry. You are right, they are speedy with shipping. One of the great things about the company. Thanks again.
