Teach Soap

Can anyone tell me how to color a white white body scrub base ( ready to use base) to look like brown sugar. I want to make some Xmas gifts and will use BB Dark Chocolate FO and a Brown Sugar/Fig FO. I was hoping to get the base color to match the fragrance. I tried brown micas, but they only made the base look like mud. Any ideas? Thank you.

Cocoa powder or maybe a smidge of melted bakers' chocolate?

I feel in love with sugar scrubs after my son gave me some for Xmas last year. He paid $80.00 for 2 16 oz jars. Needless to say, I used it sparingly all year. I have become addicted to that stuff. I've been experimenting with the ready to use bases, but now I would like to make my own. What is the rule of thumb with preservatives? How much do you use.? And what would be the best preservative to use for scrubs.?? Thank you!

You're welcome. As you need an oil soluble preservative, I would go with Phenonip. Recommended use levels are: 0.5%-1.0% . I would start with the lowest % first and see if that works for you.
