At least in my opinion. LOL! I bought this stuff called Body and Bath Glide and some Macademia Glycerides. Added them to my bath fizzie recipe along with some Jojoba oil and man oh man are they wonderful! The Body and Bath Glide is Tapioca Starch. That's it. It helps the oils disperse in the water. No greasiness left behind and your skin is soft! Plus, it foams like bubble bath. Not just a fizz but a foam that lasts for quit awhile. I don't think I will ever make a bath fizzy without those two ingredients from now on.

Sounds great! The only fizzies I have made so far are some Halloween ones. Just the straight up baking soda, citric acid, FO, color (I used mica), and witch hazel. I packed them in the guest soap JOL molds that Bramble Berry sells. When I tapped them out, the design was nice and crisp, but when they dried, they seemed to swell and the design doesn't look near as nice. Anybody have any ideas what happened? They are still nice and hard, smell great, and fizz like crazy. I'd just like them to look a little nicer.

Any chance you're willing to post your recipe with measurements? I love skin softening bath products, but hate the grease!

Sounds to me like you might have spritzed too much witch hazel. That happens to me 75% of the time. I have finally gotten to where I know what I am looking for. As far as the recipe goes, it is

1 cup Baking Soda
1/2 cup Citric Acid
1/4 cup Body and Bath Glide
1 T Jojoba
1 T Macademia Glycerides
1 T FO

Mix really well, spritz with witch hazel (it doesn't take much b/c of all of the oils) until it feels like damp sand and then mold.

Thanks for the feedback (everyone!) and the recipe! What are macademia glycerides and where do I get them? Is there anything I could substitute if I can't get them?

I got mine at http://www.suppliesbystar.com. That is also where I got the Body and Bath Glide. I also used the Body and Bath Glide in lotion last night at 1% and it really makes a difference.

Soapbuddy, I converted the T to ounces (1 T = .5 oz) but I can't convert cups to ounces. Can I? I couldn't find that conversion anywhere. Well, I guess I could stick it on my scale and do it that way....

Thank you. You would think that I would know that, should know that but my brain just isn't functioning lately.

I would love to try these but in Australia supply is limited and the only Macadamia products l can find for sale are oil and wax is there anything else that can be used in place of Macadamia Glycerides?.Also could l use the Tapioca starch used in Asian cooking instead of the Bath and Glide?

Thanks for all the great info! Can't wait to try this! By the way - I did make another batch of Halloween Fizzies and used less witch hazel. I was afraid the mixture was too dry, but it packed great. The final product looked much better. Thanks for the tip!
