When you all are creating your lotion formulas, do you include essential or fragrance oils in the calculations? What would happen if it is not completely balanced? Please take a look at the following formula for me, and tell me what you think. I appreciate the help

65% Water
8% Jojoba Oil
5% Shea Butter
5% Avocado Oil
5% Sweet Almond Oil
5% Apricot Kernal Oil
5% E-Wax
.65% Preservatives
EOs

I don't really need the whole 1.35% for EOs. Where should I add more in the formula? Also, what do you all think of the oils in this formula? Do you think it might be greasy? Thanks for any input!

Essential or fragrance oils are used in the calculation. Avocado is a fairly heavy and greasy oil. i would use more sweet almond instead. You might not need as much e-wax, but the only way to know is to make it and see. Which preservative are you using? Not all of them measure the same and some are also temp sensitive.

I was worried the avocado might be too heavy. I was planning on using .5% Cosmocil CQ and .115% Potassium Sorbate.

ETA: What about coconut oil? Have many of you used it in lotions before?

I meant .15% potassium sorbate. I have a digital scale that measures small amounts very accurately. It is a scientific scale that measures to .01g
