Hi Everyone!

I am thinking of getting unrefined shea butter from an east cost supplier at a great price as it will be coming in from New Guinea.
My question is: How will unrefined shea butter change the feel of my lotion as opposed to using refined? Also, what can I do to incorporate it nicely into the recipe (I'm using the Brambleberry basic lotion recipe) that will make it come out nice?

There are different grades of unrefines shea butter. Some have an objectionable smell that comes through the lotion. Some are grainy; others are gray green. So I would say it depends. I use refined as I know my lotion will come out the same each and every time. My customers expect it.

I always use unrefined Shea Butter because I like it in it's most natural form and I've never had a problem.

I guess I won't buy since the smallest amount is 5 pounds and I don't want to get stuck with an ingredient I can't work with
