 HELP! I need some packaging ideas!

I got an order for something fun and unique for a bridal shower. What the customer and I came up with is whipped soap layered like a parfait in plastic champagne glasses. We both think it would be really cute. I could create different colored layers in fun scents.

The problem is...
How do I package this? I want to "overfill" the glasses and don't want to shrink wrap too tightly over the top of the glass. The customer is local, so I am going to hand deliver. So, the product won't need to be shipped, but I want something to cover/protect the individual glasses.

Any suggestions on how to package them?

Can you wrap the whole glass with shrink wrap but loosely? Add a matching ribbon at the top that's been closed to match the wedding's colors.

That is what I may do, but I have to see what the glasses will be like (haven't purchased them yet). Hope that I can find them somewhere. Any ideas on the best places to try and find them??

I probably don't sound very prepared, do I???

I was at Fred Meyer yesterday looking for liquer glasses. They have a cordial glass there that's about 3" high & about an 1" in diameter that might be kinda cute for a layered look. But, they are $1.99 a piece, don't know what budget you have in mind.

I would try a party supply store or IKEA - I got some (glass) champagne glasses there a number of years ago for dirt cheap (I remember them being under $0.40 each).

I'm just curious (and forgive me for I have an overbearing practical side) but how will the recipients get the soap out of the glass in order to use it? Sounds like it'll be really cute, but I was just wondering what made her decide to go with soap instead of candles or something that could be used in the cup.

Zeo...
Your question is not overbearing at all. I probably described the glasses (that I want to use) incorrectly. I am going to try and find glasses that are wide at the top - sort of like margharita glasses. Since the soap is whipped/soft, it should be easy to scoop out of the wide-mouthed glass.

well a martini glass would work but probably not what I would use for a wedding. I'm thinking that I saw margarita glasses at the dollar store. A Restaurant supply store would be a good outlet also.

It's more of a party (lingere) that the bride's maids are throwing. Maybe I'll get an order for the actual wedding, if this goes well. I plan to include some cute freebies...

We're going to shop around tonight for the glasses. Thanks for all of your input.

Oh, NOW I understand! :) When you said "whipped soap" I was still thinking of solid whipped soap like Nizzy makes. But if you're talking about the soft stuff, then that makes perfect sense! I love that idea.

OK...now you have me curious. What is the solid whipped soap that Nizzy makes? Can you send me a link?

It's an interesting process. I made it a couple times. Can't say I am sold on it though.

WOW! Her soaps are beautiful! But, I'm not too sure I'd be very successful at those! They look a bit tricky!
