Body Butter versus Lotion, Souffle', etc.

What differentiates these from each other? I am guessing it is oil/butter content but I have no clue what percentages would equate to that type. I.E. does a lotion have X amount of oils in it, versus butters havng Y amounts....and if so can someone please tell me what those percentages are?

:shock:

I saw someone on another board really jump all over someone for their comment about making "body butter that had 15% oils in it" and saying they would never want to disappoint their customers by shorting them. I just want to make sure I am calling what I make the right thing!

Body butter is usually butters and oils. Souffle is usually just whipped butters. Lotion has water, so that's a different thing.

Technically, it can be called whatever you want and whatever your customers understand.
