Hi,
I have two questions: I made some bath salts, (sea salt, epsom salt, baking soda, lavender and bergamont EO) I have it in a air tight canning jar, my question is that every time I open it, it makes the "psh" sound like when you first open a can of soda. What is causing this air-vac and is it fine, or if I left it unopened for an extended amount of time would it explode??
My next question is does anyone have a trick to keeping the salt mix from getting kind of solid in the jar? It breaks up ok but it would be nice if it didn't turn solid to begin with.

It's the baking soda that's creating a chemical reaction. Yes, it's possible that the glass jar could explode.
Sea salt still has moisture. That's why over time the mixture clumps or turns solid in the jar.

How do I package bath salts without that happening? What kind of packaging would vent?

Some people package their bath salts in cello bags with a ribbon, but I think it depends on their ingredients.

I buy bath salts and other things like that from the store and they are never hard, clumped or compressed air. What do they do different? Chemicals??
This is a frustrating process to say the least lol

Yes. I don't see any with baking soda, but they all have sea salt, and you said that's whats making it hard-right?
