How can u get an oily ingredient to mix with non oily
Ingredient?

I am trying to mix alcohol and aloe Vera but they
Separate like oil and water.

Help.

You need an emulsifier like polysorbate.

What is in the aloe vera other than aloe vera? Aloe vera and alcohol mix well. If you're not buying your aloe vera from a reputable supplier like Brambleberry, then it may have a wide range of things in it. Not all companies list everything on the ingredients list and aloe is a common one for that practice.

Are you making hand sanitizer? If you are, then you should be able to mix 91% isopropyl alcohol with the aloe vera - targeting a final alcohol % of between 60-65%. So something like this recipe: . Careful though. Most people think that more alcohol is better, but it's not. Anything above 60-65% starts breaking down the skin enough that you can actually increase your risk of exposure to bacteria and viruses. So it can be worse than not using any if the alcohol levels are too high. They figured that out when the first flu scare came along. That's why you'll see those percentages in hospital products, for example.

Robert, there is an aloe vera oil. What is actually in it to make it an oil I have no idea.
