Hey guys and gals!

Can someone tell me the safest way to sterilize metal tins (the kind you use for salves, lip balms, solid perfume etc.)? I've called a couple of suppliers and no one seems to have an answer.

Thanks!

Try a dry heat sanitizer, like the ones used in spas. You don't want to introduce any water into the tins.

PS. Why do you need to sterilize them? Have they been used before?

Maybe what I need to know is how to sanitize them (I found a thread discussing the difference between the two.) :)

I probably can't afford one of those spa things.

If they are new and have been packagedstored in plastic or some other protective covering, there is no need to sterilize them or sanitize them.

On one of the Soap Queen tutorials, I saw her just spray the inside and lid with 91% alcohol and wipe it out with a clean paper towel to sanitize it.
