I've concluded it's diluted as it's going to be. I added another ounce yesterday morning and there are still a couple of small clumps that just won't get any smaller, plus it's thinner than it was - should've left well enough alone!
I ended up with about 28 oz of soap, starting with 8 oz of almond butter.
I added 45 oz of water but since I was heating it for a week maybe some evaporated? Plus when I was transferring the other night I dropped it in the sink and lost some there - didn't think it was THAT much though.
All in all I'm happy with it. Wish it had retained its consistency but I think I just added too much water. It ended up being a rich creamy yellow.
I bottled it up and put it in the fridge for now.... will that be ok? I didn't use a preservative but I do have some on order for next time.
I think I will try a single coconut next, for cleaning. I do have some SAO on order that will hopefully give similar results to the butter!
I've learned if I don't know the dilution rate I can probably start at 2:1 water/oils (or more), and no harm in leaving it unheated for a few days. Wish there was a chart somewhere for basic dilution rates for different oils and butters! I get confused between soft and hard sometimes.
Thanks for all the help.
