Teach Soap

Thinking of trying some single oil liquid soap! (besides olive oil). Has anyone tried this and have any failed completely? I can find info on single CP bars but have not found LS info yet.

Hmmm I wonder if you can use 100% coconut LS as a pre-spot treatment?

My first LS batch was 1 lb but with 4 oils. Would you recommend staying with 1 lb as the smallest, or can you even go to 1/2 lb since it's only the one oil, lye and water?

Have you had any problems with a 100% soybean LS going rancid?

To piggyback of the salt thread, can you super-superfat LS? Or is there a max LS should be superfatted? I seem to remember someone asking this awhile back but I don't think there was an answer.

It was me that asked and it seems like the norm is about 3% and I never did get an answer on what the max is

You can probably go higher than 3%, but if you do you'll probably want to do smallish batches that can be used up before the extra oils go rancid.

I have been reading conflicting reports on excess superfat going rancid in LS. Not sure if the ones that don't are using a preservative maybe?

But so far I haven't found anyone going over 5%

There are some people that are superfatting after dilution as well?
