Try adding some Hydrolyzed oats, I've found that seems to help the most with not having that oily feeling, i use 1T per batch of lotion.

There's a good video on making body butter by David Fisher at http://video.about.com/candleandsoap/Ma ... Butter.htm I tried it for the first time today. I changed the recipe a bit and used cocoa butter, avocado oil and apricot kernal oil, leaving out the beeswax. It was really easy and whipped up nicely. I made 7 oz and added about 1/4 tsp of corn starch to keep it from being too oily. It's still a little oily but maybe that will change after 24-48 hours??

The finished butter can still change in consistency and texture up to 2 days later.

Today, after less than 24 hours, the oily feeling is gone and it feels really nice. Melts right into your skin. It's harder than I expected though and would have been better in a push up tube than the little jars I used, but that's ok. Maybe I should use a little more liquid oils next time to make it more fluffy buttery. Would FO affect the consistency? I used Night Blooming Jasmine.
I probably wouldn't have thought about making this at all if I hadn't been a little short on soap making supplies, and waiting for my next BB delivery. I just wanted to make something and with this I still got to play with cocoa butter, oils and FO, just on a smaller scale. I like it!

A little more oil and a little more whipping to the same batch should take care of the hardness. Then if it's too oily again- hit it with the cornstarch.

Body butters are trial and error- it took me a long time to make one up.
