I bought the Liquid Soap Guru kit from BB. The instructions say to use a couple of stainless steel pots which I still don't have (except for my cooking ones)

Is a crockpot ok to use? I see that mentioned at times.

Thanks!

I make my LS in a stainless pot, then cook it in the crock pot. I use a stick blender and don't want to scratch the interior of the crock pot.

I made mine in a crock pot. No issues.

I do it from start to finish my slow cooker - so yeah, all in the crock pot part of it. I warm the oils in it, then pour the lye in and stick blend in there.

Oh geez! I meant crockpot. I was just lying down for a nap, guess I really needed it.

Thanks, that is so good to know. I really want to do that kit and the lack of stainless has held me up.

So since Septemer I've been playing with bars or a Castile-based gel for my hair. I have not had to use conditioner on my hair yet this season! Typically by Oct/Nov I am. The bars don't work as well for my hair, at least not the ones I've tried. Kind of curious about the liquid soap.

Also going to get some borax tomorrow to make some liquid laundry soap

I only have one and I bought it used just for soap! now I have to get one for us. I have a small bean pot I like to use but its really small and I'd never leave it alone, it's really old.

I have to laugh :D
A couple of years back my brother-in-law gave me a Crock Pot for XMAS. I remember looking at my sister and mouthing "I don't cook in a crock pot...". She shook her head and told me to save it and maybe one day I will use it.

GUESS WHAT I USE ALL THE TIME NOW? THE CROCK POT!!! LOL
I guess my brother-in-law definitely knew something I didn't back then!

I am using it as I speak for my first try at Liquid Soap from a Video from SoapQueenTV :D

I watched the entire Liquid Soap video today. Am I correct to think this may take two days to complete? Worst case?

Good to know! I can't do it this weekend then.

These are the ingredients in the video:
24 oz Olive Oil
4 oz Castor Oil
5.6 oz Potassium Hydroxide
16.6 oz Distilled Water
Beach Breezes Fragrance Oil

I only watched it once so far, but I think in the comments she said she designed it so it doesn't have to be neutralized.

I didn't run it through soap calc yet to see what it says. I need to do that for my notes anyway.
