I'm thinking about buying a gallon of regular body wash... two question.. can FOs & EOs plus colors be added to this body wash. and will I need a preservite? (excuse spelling.)

What body wash do you plan on buying?

Usually the body wash bases and bases like those allow for the addition of fo's or eo's and color. Keep in mind that there are some fo's that may make the body wash runnier.

Usually the body wash already has preservatives in it. I wouldn't buy a base that doesn't because otherwise by the time it got to you it could be full of nasties.

These are the ingredients for that base:
Purified Water
Coconut Oil
Sodium Chloride
Sodium Laureth Sulfate
Cocamide Dea
Glycerin
Sodium Cocoate
Sodium Myristate
Cocoamidoproply Betaine
DMDM Hydantoin
Citric Acid

It reads almost like a liquid soap.

What's it all mean?? can I add FOs and/or EOs .. with soap dyes I got from NG. this is mainly for myself and close family and friends. when the time comes I will label properly. but for now... personal is ok right? I'm not selling anything.

You can most likely add fo's/eo's and colors. I'm assuming that's why they sell it unscented :)

There are better soap bases out there. Sodium Laureth Sulfate is a surfactant that's very drying.

What is the purpose of the Tetrasodium EDTA? I know it helps remove silicone buildup in hair products. Does it help remove buildup of other substances as well?
