Teach Soap

Hello,

I have a silly little question. As I do make soap. I do know about Coconut oil.
But I do not know for sure the difference between it and Cocoamide DEA.

I am allergic to Coconut oils. And am looking to find a shampoo with out any. Which has been difficult. As you know...The company's online, lie. The "say" 100%" Castille Shampoo...

I just receive an order of KISS My FACE. PEACE SOAP. States on the bottle it is 100% Castlile Soap. And after receiving it, I read the ingrediants to see...Coconut,Jojoba and Olive. .

I am sending it back. And Yes, I am very sad that a company this big would make this mistake. Especially when people have allergies To coconut. I will be writing a letter to them.

any way...long letter. Sorry.
What is the difference between the two?

Coconut oil is mixed with diethanolamine to make cocamide DEA. It’s then used as a emulsifier and a surfactant. DEA and its variants are suspected of increasing the risk of cancer. DEA can combine with amines present in cosmetic formulations to form nitrosamines (N-nitrosodiethanolamine), which are known to be highly carcinogenic. Also Some people will label things 100% Castile if Olive oil is the main ingredient. Even Dr Bronners castile soap is not 100% castile. I guess the only way to make sure is to make it yourself which is what I have started doing. I havent tried making 100% OO Castile liquid soap yet however I have been using my OO/Castor LS on my hair with good success If you are not wanting to try to make your own, BB sells Castile paste that you just dilute. It is 100% Olive Oil.

I think I found a shampoo That is Coconut free! And that is very Very hard to do

I can not wait to try it. I have been using my homemade soap since I found out I am allergic.
Tonight I am making a Shampoo Bar. But in the mean time... I really would like to wash my hair with a real shampoo.
Its been 2 months!! "eak!"
My hubby said today. Your hair feels coarse. Really...

The "Yes To" veggie soaps are really nice! I haven't tried the shampoo myself, but have read some great reviews! Let me know how it is?
