I went to a class on Sat. on Bath Bombs and they turned out. But they are still too soft to move much. The humidity is kinda high right now and rain tomorrow.. Will they ever get hard or can they be crumbled up and just be fizzy pieces.

Thanks,
Donna

When did you make them? I usually let mine sit on wax paper or something soft they won't stick to for at least 24 hours after unmolding. It takes at least that long for them to harden up with even a basic recipe.

It's the humidity. I would crumble them up and use the pieces.

I let mine as well rest for at least 24 hours. If you've applied Natron (sodium hydrogen carbonate, baking soda, are all the same ingredient), they would actually absorb humidity and get harder and not melt . May be you didn't apply enough pressure to press the powder into the form?

I made them on sat. and when I checked them last night they were still alittle soft and I turned them over and the underside was soft and part of them stuck to the cupcake liner they were sitting on. In class we just hand shaped them. I check with another girl who took the class and hers were soft also.. We were told that if the heat index was 100 or above we should not try and make them..

I do not have the amounts with me right now but we used Baking soda, C.Acid, Dead Sea Salt and Almond oil

Doesn't Dead Sea Salt attract moisture more than table salt?

That's what I thought too. I think next time I am going to use sea salt or epsom salt

Dead Sea Salt still has a lot of natural moisture. I would go with plain table salt.

I tried DDS one time in bath bombs. They did get hard but oil seeped out and the color morphed. Very ugly. Eventually the surface became pitted. I've had good luck with adding 25% Epsom salts to bombs and they harden just fine. When I don't use salt, I add 10% kaolin clay to the bomb mixture and they turn out like rocks!

I use Epsom salt, cocoa butter, kaolin clay, baking soda, and citric acid in mine and haven't had an issue. I agree, switch the salt!
