Not sure of this, I am trying to make a natural powder, and right now I only have arrowroot powder. What other powders can I use along with the arrowroot? Thank you.

Like a talc free body powder?

@Hestey, yes talc free if possible and @Genny, I have no idea where to buy Rice Flour, do they sell that at Walmart?

I have also used arrowroot powder and tapioca starch along with cosmetic clays in body powder. Look in the organic section of a large grocery for Bob's Red Mill products. They make white rice flour. You can also order rice flour, arrowroot powder and tapioca starch online.

Yep, I got my rice flour at Walmart. It's either in the baking section or in the Kosher section. Sometimes I find it in both.

Do any of you have a recipe for talc free powder? Mom uses it a lot, but hers is so perfumed it makes me sick!!!

Here are a couple of links with some recipes. If a recipe calls for Dry Flo TS, it is a modified tapioca starch, Dry Flo AF is corn starch.

We have "arrowroot flour" that says it is the same as arrowroot powder, what do you guys think? Want to use Anne-Marie's recipe (thanks for posting the links!!) with an addition of a little bit of kaolin.

Thank you everyone, I have seen the Bob's Red Mill products, and have actually seen the rice flour, but wasn't sure if it was the same thing as the rice flour that is used in body powder recipes, if that makes sense. I know some people use zinc oxide, is this absolutely necessary? I always associate the zinc oxide with the white stuff that people use on their nose when they are sunning!! Lol! A recipe with just arrowroot powder and rice flour would need something else? Or are those ok by themselves? Would they each have to be a specific ratio?
