Recently I have been asked how long I whip my body butters for? I whip them only for about 20 to 30 minutes depending on results I want for each batch and ingredients in them. It seems some sites state that they whip there body butters for "hours" does this really matter or make a difference??? In shipping a lot of body butters may melt a little and the extra whipping would not make a difference at that point, or am I wrong  ?

20 to 30 minutes is fine. I don't see how whipping for hours will make any difference unless it's for label appeal.

At some point, I think the mixture has incorporated all the air that it can, and it's done. Maybe if you had grainy shea butter and needed to whip it to smooth it--but not melting the shea or tempering it will keep that from happening in the first place.

Thank you Soapbuddy and Mellifera I did not see how it could make any difference but was willing to give it a try if any of you suggested it could
