I am makeing bubble bars and have read several recipes. I have SLSA which is included in the dry ingredients
but I dont have the liquid SLS that is in the wet ingredients and from what I have read I dont think I want to use.
I know I need to sub something but dont have a clue what. The wet calls for Cocamidopropl Betaine, Cocamide DEA , FO of choise and color as well as SLS . Does anyone know what I could use in place of the SLS I have thought of Glycerin just because I have seen in other recipess, but that dosent make bubbles so I dont know
if I should just use more of the other wet ingredients to make up the diff ?
Thanks

Glycerin would not be a good sub for the SLS. Try it with adding more of the SLSA and leave the SLS out.

Thanks soapbuddy, The only thougt on that is the sls goes into the liquid part og the mixture, I belive I will have to replace with a liquid or my mixture will be to dry. Do you think I could just add moe of the other liquids?

I've seen similar recipes, but they usually have SLES in them instead of SLS mixed into the wet part.

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate AKA Sodium Laurel Sulfate is SLS
Sodium Laureth Sulfate AKA Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate is SLeS which is known to be milder than SLS

I have not heard of SLES , but after google I still dont know what it is ? Is it a liquid or powder? I only copies the recipe the way it was but
It seems that SLS can cause reactions so I dont want to use in something I am giving awaay as shower gift. I want to say Thanks to everyone
that has tried to help. I would like to know if any of you use SLES in bath products? The recipe I listed is supposed to be close to Lush and I Thank Her for sharing.

I've only used SLeS in liquid form, I've never seen a powdered version. I've gotten some from The Chemistry Connection (http://www.thechemistryconnection.com)

If you're going to use the SLSa, be really careful with that and it's best to use a breathing mask because it's a really, really fine powder that easily gets everywhere.

Also, I just noticed in the recipe it says Tartic Acid. I've never heard of that. I think they mean Tartaric Acid (which you do not want to use because it can be quite dangerous) so I think they have that confused with potassium bitartrate, which is cream of tartar (Tartaric Acid's well known cousin)
