Teach Soap

I am just getting started in making soaps and scrubs and such as gifts and surprises for friends and family memebers. Reading the posts in this forum has been so very helpful. Thank you to EVERYONE for sharing your knowledge & experiences.

I have several birthday gifts coming up, and need some variety. Has anyone made shampoo or bubble bath with BB High Sudsing Soap Paste? If you have, I would love a few pointers.

I emailed with Leah at Bramble Berry today - she said the only difference between liquid soap, shampoo, bubble bath, etc is the thickness. She said after I dilute & dissolve the paste, to thicken it with a salt/water or borax/water solution. The salt/water and borax/water thickening follows what I have read about liquid soaps, so I'll go with what I've been reading about diluting liquid soaps and such. Wish me luck (I guess the luck should go to my poor guinea pigs - friends & family).

If it's either of our soap paste bases, they thicken awesome with a water/table salt combo - no need to use Borax. I love it!

The way it reads, "make a 20% salt solution", structurally refers to the water/salt ratio (the salt being 20% of the water), but I have not used that product, so cannot say with 100% certainty.

20% salt solution means to me 0.2 oz. of salt to 0.8 oz. of water.
