I have been wanting to make a massage bar, but didn't have much beeswax available, I have been experimenting and I ended up using a recipe I found on one of my suppliers websites but changed it around a bit. it said i needed to use 85 grams of beeswax (2.9oz) and 15grams of soy wax (0.52oz).
I decided to use 85grams of soy wax pillar blend (ecosoya skin safe) and 15g beeswax for scent and hardness of the bar. the rest of the recipe was cocoa butter, shea butter and sweet almond oil.
I tested the bar out on my husband, It took a little rubbing before it started melting into his skin, it didn't liquify immensly or melt in my hand, but it did give a nice massage. The only thing I was worried about was residue. I noticed when i gently scraped the skin with my nail there was residue in my fingers (the oil didn't really penetrate into the skin).. wondering if this is because of the soy being used and not beewax?
I ve never used a massage bar, so i dont know what they re like. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
