Teach Soap

I'm wanting to make a real good a lathery shave soap for my hubby using cinnimon and Sandalwood fragrances can anyone recommend what ingredients to incorporate with this?

You need castor for bubbles and clay for slip. I would not use cinnamon for something that will go on the face. It could irritate.

Soapbuddy, how much castor would you use in a recipe with 1 lb of base and 2 tsp of clay? The recipe I'm looking at is Ittner's "Good Morning Men's Shave", which also requires Rosemary and Lime EOs and jojoba oil. I thought oils generally cut down on lather?

If you are talking about a CP, soap benefits from castor since it saponifies and creates bubbles along with some clay for slip. For a MP base, I would add 1//2 tsp of mango or shea butter and 1/8 tsp of clay.

I use castor, olive, palm and canola and also add bentonite clay. I make it in round pvc pipes.
