Teach Soap

Hello everyone, recently I posted a preservative question regarding types, etc., I made my first batch of lotion and gave some to friends and family interested in trying some, soapbuddy's reply to my question regarding the about of liquapar optima I used which was .25 % leads me to believe I am a fool and misunderstood the direction regarding .5 -1.0% I thought they meant in total weight of my batch, not in total. Please if I misunderstood, let me know if I should tell my friends and family to stop using the lotion if I added too much liquapar optima. Thanks! Oh, and thanks soapbuddy!

PS: My batch size was 51 oz of total ingredients. I used the snowdrift 101 of lotion making video (doubled the batch size) just used the liquapar optima because I had it on hand. It made approx. 6 8oz bottles of lotion.

If you total batch size (including water) was 51 ozs., then 0.5% is 0.25 ozs. If you have a scale that measures to one hundred of an oz. you can get an accurate %. If not, convert the % of the preservative into grams.
