Been making cp soap for several years and just expanded into lotions. I had a request from a customer to put "SPF" into my lotions
. Apparently she doesn't realize that SPF, like octane in gasoline, is a measurement and not an ingredient. I know that some essential oils, etc. are photosynthesizers and can affect the skins ability to absorb rays, either positively or negatively.
If anybody can shed some light (no pun.....well....ok, a "little" pun) on this I'd be most appreciative. If you know of any ingredients, oils, butters, or compounds that can inhibit sunlight, please share.
Thanks!!
