I've come across some online sellers (with 100% positive reputation for years) claim that the products they sell are using naturally derived preservative: Polyaminopropyl Biguanide which is basically the INCI name of Cosmocil CQ. My question is, can Cosmocil CQ ever come from a natural source?

The answer is no. It's lab made. The word "naturally derived" is misleading. Lots of things are naturally derived. The end product is no longer natural.

It's a synthetic polymer that functions as a preservative. It never started as a natural material.

Thanks! Sometimes I feel sellers are not doing their research and study so they give out false information just because the store where they got the ingredients from told them so. Or maybe they think consumers don't know any better so they are taking advantage of the situation for marketing purposes.
