So then what is "dead sea salt" actually for? to just dump in the tub or what?

How much FO do you use in a salt scrub? I have been looking for a % or oz. amount but no luck. Everything is in "drops" and I dont have any droppers. If it helps I have a 10oz container, and will probably only fill it it 8 oz. Also I have been doing 1 part grapeseed oil, 2 parts sea salt. Is that right?

Normally, I use about 0.5 oz. per lb. of bath salt mixture. So if you are making an 8 oz. batch, I would go with 0.2 to 0.3 oz. I would weigh all your ingredients. You will get more consistent results that way. Do you have a scale?

Yes, however the weight to volume thing always confuses me. Seems like it is *easier* when it is such a small amount to do volume because I dont have a digital scale. I have been using a regular old one that i used for food previously and it only has markers on every 1 oz. so it makes things less than that hard to guess. Plus I don't have pipettes or anything yet, or those nifty little shot glass measuring cup deals ...saw some at walmart today and would have bought some but the glass bottoms were not level on any of them and I wasn't sure if that was intentional or not. Anyways, thanks for the help!!

You can get those shot glasses at thrift store or goodwill stores. The bottom is level but the inside is curved. If the products you make are just for yourself, then use whatever you have. If this is for sale, I would strongly suggest getting a scale. You will get more consistent results that way. Sometimes e bay has good deals on scales too.

well i am making this for a friend, but I plan on buying a few necessesties before i really start selling, a digital scale, measuring glasses and cups, and a digi thermometer to name a few. Thanks for the info. I feel better about buying those-they looked a little off, but I couldn't be sure.
